Duke Opens 2024 Season with a Home Tournament


DURHAM – The Duke volleyball team is set for its opening weekend in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils welcome Colgate, No. 13 Kansas and South Carolina Friday – Sunday. All contests will be streamed on ACCNX.
 
A Closer Look at the Series
COLGATE
Friday marks the third all-time meeting between Duke and Colgate, and the first since 2008. 
KANSAS
Duke and Kansas meet for just the second all-time meeting as the Jayhawks swept the Blue Devils on Sept. 4, 2015. 
SOUTH CAROLINA
Duke and South Carolina meet for the 19th time in program history and for the first since 2017. The Blue Devils lead the all-time series 10-8 and have lost five of the last seven meetings.

The 2023 Season

  • The Duke volleyball team went 19-10 overall and 10-8 in conference play during the 2023 season. 
  • Returning outside hitter Kerry Keefe was named to second team All-ACC for her efforts as a sophomore. 
  • Statistically, Keefe tied for first on the team with 356 kills and a .308 hitting percentage. She also added 222 digs, 29 aces and 56.0 total blocks as a six-rotation player. 
  • Christina Barrow, Keefe, Millie Muir, Rachel Richardson and Nikki Underwood were named to the All-ACC Academic Team for their successes in the classroom.

Season Openers

  • Duke is 39-14 all-time in season openers and 17-8 under head coach Jolene Nagel.
  • The Blue Devils are starting the season at home for the 25th time. 
  • A season ago, the Blue Devils went 1-2 in their opening weekend away from Durham.

T-Minus One

  • Head coach Jolene Nagel looks to reach 500-career wins at Duke this weekend. She is just one win shy of the milestone.

  • Accessible Parking – STATE-ISSUED PLACARD OR PLATE REQUIRED – Whitford Lot (GPS Address: 110 Whitford Drive). Accessible drop-off/pick-up point available at Whitford Drive Circle.
  • Cameron Indoor Stadium Doors – open at 11 a.m.
