Egypt, Rwanda start off strong at African Zone Championships

Men’s world No. 3 Egypt and women’s world No. 5 Rwanda went out strong on Day 2 of the ParaVolley Africa Sitting Volleyball Zone Championships with straight-set wins against their rivals on Tuesday at the Teslim Balogum Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

The Rwandan women had a strong performance in their first outing, limiting their rivals Nigeria to a single-digit score in their 3-0 (25-6, 25-4, 25-9) triumph. Hosts Nigeria have a 0-2 start in the competition.

The Rwandan men made a repeat of their 2023 World Cup winning performance against Algeria, this time beating the latter 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-11).
