Bangkok, Thailand, September 19, 2022 – The Thailand Volleyball Association successfully delivered a five-day FIVB International Level-1 Coaches Course at the FIVB Development Centre in Thailand, with TVA President Mr Somporn Chaibangyang and AVC Executive Director Mr Shanrit Wongprasert jointly presiding over the certificate presentation and closing ceremony on Monday.
A total of 20 candidates, 14 males and 6 females, most of them ex-players of club and national teams, teachers and coaches from four countries consisting of Hong Kong China, India, Maldives and Thailand, had attended the course between September 15 and 19 and all have already passed the Level-1 Coaches Course.
This is a great opportunity for all candidates to improve their knowledge through the expertise of FIVB Instructor Mr Bojan Mirkovic from Croatia. The course was a combination of theory and practical information focusing on the basic rules, coaching techniques and the values of volleyball from the invention of the game as well as how best to introduce the sport to beginners, communication, health and well-being of athletes, community coaching, drills and skills.
Former Thailand national players, globally known as the Fab Six including highly-experienced setter Nootsara Tomkom and ace spiker Onuma Sittirak were among the well-known participants in the five-day workshop.
Also attending the certificate presentation and closing ceremony were FIVB Course Instructor Mr Bojan Mirkovic, 35, who became certified as an official FIVB volleyball coach, obtained his Level 2 certification in 2014 and further upgraded to FIVB Level 3 in 2016, Mr Issara Riddhisinha, General Manager of FIVB Development Center in Bangkok, Thailand, and AVC Development Coordinator Ms Mingkwan Pusiddusid.
In his speech during the closing ceremony, TVA President Mr Somporn praised all participants for their self-determination and firm intention to give their best in the course.
“I would like to convey my warmest congratulations to all of you on your great achievement in this course. I strongly hope that after this, all of you will bring knowledge and skills acquired from this course to develop your team in your preparation and participation in future international competitions as well as raise your team to meet international standards.
