The FIVB continues to take significant strides in good governance and transparency, as recognised by the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) Fifth Review of International Federation Governance which was published on 25 June 2024.

Since the last evaluation in 2021-2022, the FIVB has improved its score by 35 points. Overall, since the initial ASOIF review in 2016-2017, the FIVB has climbed 95 points, reflecting its unwavering commitment to implementing the highest standards of good governance.

Significant enhancements were observed in all assessed categories, specifically increasing by 11 points in Transparency, 4 in Integrity, 9 in Democracy, 6 in Development and 5 in Control Mechanisms.

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° said:

“These continuous improvements reflect our steadfast commitment to implementing the highest standards of good governance and ensuring transparency in all our activities. Under my leadership, integrity is at the core of our operations, and we take our responsibility to manage our sport with accountability and transparency very seriously.

“We are thankful to ASOIF for conducting this detailed review, which helps us in identifying areas for further development and adopting best practices. This process not only reinforces our dedication but also inspires continuous enhancement across our organisation.”

Several governance practices of the FIVB were spotlighted as exemplary, including its organisational structure, auditing standards, safeguarding measures, anti-discrimination efforts, equal opportunities for Congress participation, internal controls and bid assessment processes.

Furthermore, the review praised the FIVB’s transparent tracking of development funds. Notably, CHF 30 million has been invested in 1,075 projects across 222 countries through the FIVB’s Volleyball Empowerment and Development programmes. All of this information is openly available through an online data dashboard, ensuring transparency and accountability.
