A WEEK IN REVIEW
- The Notre Dame Fighting Irish wrapped up their final match at home with a big win over Wake Forest on Friday, Nov. 17 inside of Purcell Pavilion.
- It was a five set thriller (28-30, 17-25, 25-21, 25-15, 15-11) as the Irish took down the Demon Deacons in front of the largest home crowd of the season with 2,530 fans in the stands.
- The attendance of 2,530 inside of Purcell Pavilion is 14th in program history.
- Phyona Schrader recorded a triple-double with 14 kills, 13 digs, 22 assists, and a .367 attack percentage.
- Sydney Palazzolo finished with 20 kills, 10 digs, and a .294 hitting percentage, followed by Ava Lange and Lucy Trump who tallied 12 kills and 10 kills, respectively.
- Lauren Tarnoff finished with a team-best six blocks, while Charity McDowell and Schrader each chipped in five blocks a piece for the Irish.
HISTORY VS. FLORIDA STATE
- This will be the 23rd meeting between the Irish and the Seminoles with FSU leading the overall series 17-5.
- This is the second time the two squads will meet this season as the Seminoles traveled to South Bend on October 29. The Irish fell in three (18-25, 18-25, 22-25) in Purcell Pavilion with Phyona Schrader tallying a team-best 10 kills and .421 hitting percentage.
- The Irish finished 0-2 against FSU last season as Notre Dame fell to the Seminoles on the road as the Irish opened up ACC play back on Sept. 23, 2022 in Tallahassee. Notre Dame fell in three (20-25, 18-25, 17-25).
- Notre Dame faced the Seminoles in Purcell Pavilion on Nov. 11, 2022 as they fell in a close five set battle to FSU (18-25, 25-16, 16-25, 25-14, 10-15). The Irish were led by Lucy Trump with 17 kills, followed by Phyona Schrader with 11 kills and a .562 kill percentage.
MEET THE TRANSFERS
- Two transfers join the Irish for the 2023 season. Sydney Palazzolo enters into her junior season after spending freshman and sophomore year at High Point. Nicole Drewnick is a graduate transfer hailing from Georgia Tech.
