Fuerbringer Earns League Honors | Wisconsin Badgers


MADISON, Wis. – Charlie Fuerbringer of the Wisconsin volleyball team has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, announced by the conference this afternoon. 

The five-foot-eleven freshman helped the Badgers to a 2-0 week with sweeps over Rutgers and No. 25 Washington. Fuerbringer totaled 68 assists over the span of six sets, for an average of 11.33 assists per set. She also chipped in with 0.83 kills per set, 1.50 points per set, and 0.67 blocks per set, including four block assists against the Huskies on Sunday.

As a team, Wisconsin had some of its best hitting percentages this season and hit .370 (45 kills – 11 errors – 92 attempts) against Rutgers, and a season-best .486 (40 kills – 4 errors – 74 attempts) over Washington. 

The honor marks the first of Fuerbringer’s career.

Next up, the Badgers will host Maryland on Friday, October 11 and Northwestern Sunday, October 13.
