WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – United East Conference women’s volleyball play began here Saturday as Gallaudet University picked up two wins against St. Mary’s College of Maryland and the host Wildcats from Penn College.
Gallaudet (14-10, 2-0 United East) started the afternoon with a 25-18, 25-23, 25-15 win over St. Mary’s (6-9, 1-1 United East). The Bison closed out the day with a 25-21, 25-14, 25-18 victory over Penn College (2-11, 0-2 United East).
Junior opposite Emily Wright (Penn Valley, Calif.) led the Bison with 15 kills and two block solos against the Seahawks. Junior setter Emma Giuntoli (Austin, Texas) passed out 19 assists while freshman Enza Visco (Riverside, Calif.) recorded 10 assists. Giuntoli led the Bison service game with three aces as Gallaudet finished with nine against St. Mary’s. Junior libero Leila Sicoli (Austin, Texas) made a match-high 14 digs and two aces. Freshman Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) added seven kills, 11 digs, two assists, one ace and one block solo.
In the Penn College match, Lummer stepped up from the outside hitter position and tallied 12 kills and eight digs while Wright finished with seven kills to go with one block solo and one block assist. Giuntoli passed out 16 assists and served up four aces as GU finished with 11 in the straight-set win. Sicoli came through with 22 digs and two aces while junior middle hitter Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) made three block solos and one block assist up front.

- GU totaled 20 service aces in the two matches
- Wright finished with 22 kills while Lummer had 19
- Giuntoli led the way with 35 assists and seven aces
- In the third match of the tri-meet, St. Mary’s defeated Penn College, 3-2

Gallaudet will make the short trip to The Catholic University of America (9-12) on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. for a non-conference match.
