Des Moines, IA – Grand View men’s volleyball hosted Missouri Valley College for the 3rd time this season for the opening round of the Heart of America Conference Tournament. Grand View would polish them off in 4-sets advancing to the semifinals with scores of, 16-25, 25-14, 25-23, and 25-18.
Set 1: Grand View University 16 | Missouri Valley College 25
The second set would be all Grand View Vikings as they were firing from all cylinders. A kill by Daniel Galili (SO/Shomrat, Israel) would give the Vikings a 9-5 edge forcing Missouri Valley into a timeout as they trailed. Out of the timeout the Vikings would continue to dominate as Galili snagged another kill, followed by a service error from Missouri Valley as they called another timeout trailing, 18-10. Zeo Meyer (JR/Wheaton, IL ) would make an immediate impact as he entered the game, finding an assist to a kill from Galili, followed by an ace, and another assist this time to Wong as Vikings took set 2, 25-16.

The second set would be all Grand View Vikings as they were firing from all cylinders. The third set would have Meyer on fire as he set up teammates Bayron Valdez (JR/Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) and Nicolas Vattier (SO/Santiago, Chile), and another tallied ace would give the Vikings a 5-0 lead early on in the first serves by Meyer. A kill from Valdez and Nickolas Lima (FR/Curitiba, Brazil ) would bring the Vikings ahead 16-9. Just as everyone thought Grand View would take set 3 convincingly, Missouri Valley began to find answers, and they rallied back to trail by just one forcing Grand View into a timeout.
