SEATTLE – Washington’s trio of Marin Grote, Claire Hoffman, and Ella May Powell were all honored once again on the AVCA All-Pacific North Region Team today, making them eligible for All-America honors. The trio has now combined for ten All-Region honors over the past four seasons.
 
The AVCA Pacific North Region encompasses six Pac-12 teams (California, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State) along with schools from the Big West Big Sky, Mountain West, and WCC conferences for a total of 27 teams.
 
Grote, Hoffman and Powell were all chosen to the 14-player first team. It’s the third-consecutive selections for Grote and Hoffman, and the fourth-straight for Powell. All three were also named to the All-Pac-12 Team a week ago.
 
Grote once again ranked among the most dominant attackers in the Pac-12. She hit .410 with a career-high 2.56 kills per set this season, adding 0.80 blocks per set. Grote raised her career attack percentage up to .380 at season’s end, the fourth-best mark in school history. After playing a supporting role her first two seasons, Grote shined over the next three, earning All-Region all three seasons and raising her production from 1.37 kills per set in 2020, to 2.13 in 2021, and 2.56 this fall.
 
Hoffman concluded her stellar career with her most productive season yet, leading the Dawgs with 4.25 kills per set and 493 for the season, while hitting .272 and ranking among the conference leaders in aces per set with 0.41. She tied her career-high with 2.05 digs per set as well. Hoffman finishes sixth in UW history with 1,571 career kills, and fourth all time with 151 aces. She scored 1,811.5 total points for the Dawgs, fourth-most since 2000.
 
Powell set the record for most sets played in Husky history with 586. She finished ranked second in UW history, third in Pac-12 history, and 14th in NCAA history with 6,218 assists. Powell also wound up as the Husky career aces leader with 162. As a senior, she was more effective than ever with her own attack, as she averaged a career-high 0.72 kills per set and hit .384. The Fayetteville, Ark. product averaged a career-high 2.38 digs per set and finished with 1,370 career digs, sixth-most in school history and more than any non-libero. She set the Huskies to…
