ASTON, Pa. – The Gallaudet University women’s volleyball team salvaged a split here Saturday on the second day of the Knights Invitational hosted by Neumann University. The Bison needed five sets to dispatch the host Knights 25-23, 24-26, 25-21, 17-25, 15-11 to complete the tournament with a 1-2 record. GU dropped a straight-set match to Widener University earlier in the day; 11-25, 20-25, 21-25 in The Mirenda Center.
Gallaudet (5-7) had three players in double figures for kills against Neumann led by junior opposite Emily Wright (Penn Valley, Calif.), who finished with 13. Wright was named to the all-tournament team for her performance during the two-day tournament. Junior middle blocker Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) and junior outside hitter Malia Zornoza (Riverside, Calif.) finished with 12 and 11 kills, respectively, against Neumann. Junior setter Emma Giuntoli (Austin, Texas) passed out 28 assists while fellow junior Leila Sicoli (Austin, Texas) made a match-high 29 digs. Zoronza completed the double-double with 17 digs. Freshman outside hitter Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) finished with nine kills and 16 digs in the five-set win.
The Bison got off to a bad start on Saturday against the Pride as GU had a season-high 16 service errors and made 14 attack errors in the straight set loss. Wright led the way with 11 kills while Giuntoli passed out 23 assists

- GU finished the two-day tournament with 19 service aces
