Last Time Against Virginia
Tech fell to the Cavaliers 3-2 in the last matchup on Oct. 28 in a hard-fought battle. The Hokies offense was led by Cera Powell who finishing with 16 kills, Anabel Zier finishing with 14 kills and a hitting percentage of .565 and Cara Lewis finishing with 10 kills. Sierra Cates also had a match-high three aces.
Last Time Against Wake Forest
The Hokies swept the Demon Deacons last Wednesday, 3-0. Over the three sets, Tech hit .353, tying the best hitting percentage of the season, with the last against Boston College on September 30. Three Tech players had double figures in digs as Hanna Borer, Logan Mosley, and Maddie Slagle each posted 10. Sarah Malinowski had a career-high game with 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .615. Powell led the offense with 17 kills and a hitting percentage of .375.
Season Leaders
Slagle currently leads Tech in digs and is eighth in the ACC with a total of 327. Borer leads the Hokies in assists with a total of 616 and is tied for the team-lead in service aces with Slagle with a total of 19. Borer is ranked ninth in the ACC in assists. Lewis leads in blocks with a total of 89. Powell has 232 total kills to lead the Hokies so far this season
Sarah on the Scene
Sarah Malinowski had a great weekend for the Hokies, finishing with 20 kills and 2.86 kills per set. She had a .457 hitting percentage over her seven sets played and also added three blocks. In the sweep over Wake Forest, Malinowski recorded 10 kills, leading the team with a .615 hitting percentage. She followed that up with a career-high match against Duke, recording 10 kills for the second straight match, adding 11.5 points, another career-high. She had a .364 hitting percentage and two digs.
