Huskies Head to Arizona For Conference Showdown on Pac-12 Network

March 8-9 | Tempe, Arizona  

 

SEATTLE—  The University of Washington Beach Volleyball team is headed down south to Tempe, Arizona. For the first time this season, the Beach Dawgs will be televised as the Pac-12 South Tournament is being broadcast on the Pac-12 Network on March 8th and 9th. The Huskies are taking on Utah at 7 a.m. and No. 19 Arizona at 3 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies take on No. 1 UCLA at 1:00 p.m. and No. 3 USC at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

 

Weekend in Review

The Huskies went 1-3 in the Battle 4 LA in Los Angeles. The Beach Dawgs picked up their first ranked win of the season as they beat No. 14 Grand Canyon 3-2. The Huskies also stayed competitive as Lauren Wilcock, Zoey Henson, Natalie Martin and Kierstyn Barton took down their pair from No. 9 Long Beach State University.

 

Scouting report

The Huskies are looking to extend their winning streak against Utah to double-digits as the Beach Dawgs have never lost to them in their nine previous duals. The Utes are 6-2 heading into this weekend.

 

The Wildcats are 7-0 this season and played two close duals against Pepperdine and Boise State winning 3-2 in both.

 

The No. 1 UCLA Bruins are coming off an undefeated run at the Battle 4 LA tournament against four top 20 teams and are holding onto the top ranking for a second straight week.

 

No. 3 USC is also coming off an undefeated run at the Battle 4 LA tournament against three top 20 teams.

 

In the Rankings

After the second week of play, the Huskies are sitting at No. 14 the AVCA rankings. The Huskies are also at No. 15 in the CollegeBeachVB rankings.
