SEATTLE – The Husky volleyball team will open the 2022 season inside the top-10 of the AVCA coaches poll, as the preseason rankings were rolled out this afternoon. Washington checked in at the No. 8 spot, highest out of the Pac-12.
 
Washington finished last season at No. 12 in the rankings following a Sweet 16 five set loss at No. 2 Texas. Texas ranks No. 2 again to start this season, while Nebraska is the preseason No. 1. The defending champion Wisconsin starts at No. 3.
 
The Pac-12 has six teams in the top-25, led by the Huskies. UCLA comes in at No. 12, then Stanford at No. 14, Oregon at No. 19, Utah at No. 22, and USC at No. 24. Washington State is receiving votes.
 
The Huskies have been ranked in the top-25 in all but one poll dating back to the start of the 2003 season.
 
UW opens up the season in 11 days on the road at Arkansas.
