The outside hitter was awarded the accolade at the Indiana High School Sports Awards show.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – 2024 Gator Volleyball signee Lauren Harden was named as the Overall Girls Athlete of the Year at Indiana’s High School Sports Award show, presented by the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night.
Harden led the Hamilton Southeastern Royals to a 33-0 record and a second-straight Class 4A state championship this past season. The 6-foot-3 outside hitter recorded 371 kills and 161 digs while posting a .446 kill percentage and a .323 hitting percentage. The Indiana’s Gatorade Player of the Year compiled 38 blocks and 21 service aces. A three-time First Team All-State selection, she concluded her prep volleyball career with 1,250 kills. The incoming freshman was additionally named MaxPreps National Player of the Year and the state’s Miss Volleyball winner.

In all, 23 awards were handed out at the show, which honored athletes, coaches and teams from the entire state. The show was produced with the support of the Indianapolis Colts, The Kiwanis Club of Indiana, USA Today Sports and Golfweek. The Indiana High School Sports Awards show is part of the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards, the largest high school sports recognition program in the country.
