Manama, Bahrain, August 4, 2024 – India and the Philippines won their final classification 9th-12th encounters in the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship at Isa Sport City Hall C here on Sunday.
The Indians took ninth overall after cruising past Kazakhstan 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-15), while the Philippines claimed 11th after defeating Australia 3-1 (25-18, 25-21, 15-25, 25-23).
Harnoor Singh was India’s leading scorer in their match with 24 points, while Harish Vats added 15. Yegor Volkov posted 23 to pace Kazakhstan.
The win was the second for India against Kazakhstan in the last three days. The pair had previously met in consolation pool play.
For the Philippines, Luke Anton Carl Macatangay had 20 points, while Roderick Medino added 15. Dan Moisescu and Hamilton Vincent scored 13 apiece for Australia in their loss.
Their match was also the second time the two teams met in three days. The Australians took the earlier contest, and the Filipinos were able to bounce back Sunday to claim the higher final ranking.
