SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Irish are finally back in Purcell Pavilion this weekend after nine games on the road. Notre Dame will have their first home ACC contest against No. 11 Georgia Tech on Friday, Sept. 30 and will take on the Clemson Tigers on Sunday, Oct. 2. After falling to Florida State and Miami last weekend, the Irish head into this weekend 5-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

SETTING THE STAGE 

• The Irish are finally back at home after 33 days since their last match up in Purcell Pavilion. Notre Dame hosts No. 11 Georgia Tech in their first ACC matchup at home on Friday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 and host Clemson on Sunday, Oct. 2. 

• Both contests on Friday and Saturday will be broadcasted on ACC Network Extra. 

HISTORY VS. No. 11 GEORGIA TECH

• This will be the 13th meeting between the Irish and the Yellow Jackets as it’s a 6-6 draw between the two. The Irish have won four of the last five contests against Georgia Tech. 

• Notre Dame has won the last two matchups as they defeated the Yellow Jackets on the road in a five-set victory (17-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23, 9-15) last season and the year prior they won at Georgia Tech again in three sets (25-21, 25-18, 25-20).

• Georgia Tech finished fourth in the ACC last season. 

HISTORY VS. CLEMSON

• This will be the 14th meeting between the Irish and the Tigers with the Irish leading the overall series 10-3. 

• Notre Dame has won the last eight matchups against Clemson with their most recent victory being a three set sweep over the Tigers on the road last season (25-20, 25-23, 26-24).

LAST WEEKEND’S ACC OPENING WEEKEND 

  The Irish are coming off a road trip in Florida as they opened up ACC play with Florida State on Friday, Sept. 23, where Notre Dame fell in three sets (20-25, 18-25, 17-25). The Irish took Miami into a five-set thriller on Sunday, Sept. 25, where Notre Dame had the ultimate comeback after losing the first two sets but fell in a close fifth set (13-25, 12-25, 25-20, 28-26, 13-15).

• Phyona Schrader dished out 62 assists on the weekend and libero Hattie Monson finished with 31 digs. 

• Avery Ross tallied 20 kills on the weekend, followed by Lauren Tarnoff with 15 kills and Lucy Trump with 14. 

  Tarnoff recorded a season-high seven blocks…
