Sophomore women’s volleyball outside hitter Kyrah Wilbur (Syracuse/Baldwinsville) and graduate student men’s ice hockey forward Nate Berke (Williamsville/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) have been named the SUNY Cortland Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 24.
Kyrah finished with 25 kills, the most by a Cortland player since 2010, and added three aces and 16 digs in the Red Dragons’ four-set loss to Carnegie Mellon in the opening round of the NCAA Division III tournament. She finished the night with a .309 attack percentage.
Nate scored three points on two goals and an assist in two road SUNYAC wins. Those points, including the game-winning goal in the third period, came in a 4-2 win at Potsdam on Saturday. The previous night he won two faceoffs as Cortland won at Plattsburgh, 3-1, in a rematch of last year’s SUNYAC finals.
