EUGENE, Ore. – The duo of Alex Laita and Ella Tyus won the gold bracket of the Boise State Fall Pairs Classic this past weekend in the Ducks’ second tournament of the fall. Oregon also saw the team of Zoe Almanza and Batia Rotshtein advance to the semifinals of the silver bracket.
After splitting a pair of matches Friday in pool play, Laita and Tyus went 3-0 in Saturday’s bracket with a win over the Boise State team of Rorianna Chartier and Sierra Land in the final.

QF def. Nichols/Patock (Boise State) – 21-19, 21-15
SF def. Sayre/Vezzani (Utah) – 21-17, 18-21, 15-8
F def. Chartier/Land (Boise State) – 28-20
Almanza and Rotshtein collected two wins in pool play of the silver bracket and then beat teammates Natasha George and Dahlia McAllister in an Oregon vs Oregon quarterfinal matchup.
