Lewis Men’s Volleyball Set to Host Pair of Final Home Matches This Week


ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis men’s volleyball team will play its final two home games of the season Thursday (March 30) and Saturday (April 1) as the Flyers host Ohio State Thursday and Ball State Saturday at Neil Carey Arena.

Series History vs Ohio State

Ohio State leads the all-time series between the two programs 38-27. Both teams met in Columbus earlier this year with the Buckeyes emerging victorious 3-0. Roquet led the way with 16 kills and 5 digs. 

Series History vs Ball State

The series is even at 35-35 with Lewis tying the series with a five-set thriller earlier this season. Prayer led the charge with 16 kills, five digs and three service aces. 

Last Week in Review

The Flyers lost 3-0 to Loyola on Thursday, March 23 despite Christian Prayer (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) recording 10 kills and Tyler Morgan (Dike, Iowa/New Hartford) recording 27 assists. 

Lewis defeated Purdue Fort Wayne 3-1 on Saturday, March 25. Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) led the attack with 15 kills and Prayer also had a double-double after posting 12 kills and 10 digs. Cole Brillhart (York, Pa./Northeastern) led the defense with 13 digs. Morgan recorded 40 assists. 

Promotions This Week

Thursday is Black Out so be sure to pack the gym and wear all black for the match. Saturday is Senior/Alumni Night, come out to Neil Carey Arena and honor our six senior players and two managers, Cole Brillhart (York, Pa./Northeastern), Antonio Elias-Rodriguez, Jason Gibbs (Bellaire, Texas/Bellarie), Kevin Kauling (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley), Alec Lehnert (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North). We will also honor team managers Ashley Moore and Catherine Simpkins. We also encourage former members of the Lewis men’s volleyball team to come out and show your support.
