Lewis Men's Volleyball Travels to George Mason for DC Challenge This Weekend


ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis men’s volleyball team is set to compete in a pair of matches this weekend at the 2023 NCAA National Championship site George Mason University. Be sure to catch all the action Friday and Saturday.

Series History vs. George Mason

Lewis leads the all-time series, 20-8, including winners of seven straight and their most recent meeting on February 1, 2020 where Kevin Kauling (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) had three service aces, two blocks and 44 assists.

Series History vs. Mount Olive

The Flyers lead the all-time series between both programs, 5-0, as Lewis has never lost to the Trojans. Lewis won the most recent meeting 3-0. 

Last Week in Review

Lewis went 2-0 with wins against St. Francis-Brooklyn and Maryville both 3-0 sweeps. 

Lewis defeated the Terriers, 3-0, on January 27, with Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) having a game high 10 kills and Tyler Morgan (Dike, Iowa/New Hartford) recorded 27 assists. 

The Flyers then defeated the Saints the very next day, 3-0. Daniel Haber (Remsenburg, NY/Westhampton Beach) led the way with 11 kills and Morgan had another 27 assist performance. 

Familiar Face

Mount Olive Men’s Volleyball Head Coach Omar Sanchez played at Lewis under Dan Friend from 2010-2012 and he was part of the NCAA National Semifinalist team. 

NCAA Division I-II Rankings

Lewis is ranked No. 14 in the NVA/AVCA Men’s Volleyball Division I-II Coaches Poll that was released on January 23.
