ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — The No. 14 Lewis University women’s volleyball team took down Indianapolis 3-1 Saturday at Neil Carey Arena. Bella Ray (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic) led all players with 18 kills and hit .571 in the match, and Lauren Stenman (Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) recorded her sixth match this season with 50+ assists.

SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: Lewis 25, UIndy 12
The match started with a series of errors, with Van Loo recording the first kill of the match to make the score 5-2 Lewis. Two more points for the Flyers made it a 4-0 run and prompted a timeout by UIndy.
 
The Greyhounds took a point out of the timeout, but Lewis then charged ahead with a 7-1 run behind four kills. After another single point for UIndy, the Flyers secured a 3-0 push with two kills by Schlechte.
 
Lewis had pushed the lead to 22-8 before UIndy snared its only three-point run of the set to trim the deficit to 11. The Flyers finished the set by taking three of the last four points.
 
Set 2: UIndy 25, Lewis 19
After a 3-1 start to the second frame for the Greyhounds, Lewis took a 3-0 run to grab the lead. After a bit of back-and-forth, UIndy took the lead back with a 3-0 run of its own.
 
The set stayed tight until the Greyhounds went on another 3-0 burst to take a 14-11 advantage. Later, a 5-1 push by UIndy with three kills made it 19-14 Greyhounds.
 
Play went back-and-forth from there, with the Greyhounds earning the only back-to-back points the rest of the set. UIndy finished off the set with a kill.
 
Set 3: Lewis 25, UIndy 22
UIndy took a slight 5-3 advantage early in set three, but the Flyers came rushing back with a 3-0 run. The Greyhounds responded immediately with a 6-1 charge to earn an 11-7 lead.
