Lewis Women's Volleyball Earns Three CSC Academic All-District Honors


ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The College Sports Communicators announced Tuesday (Dec. 12) its Academic All-District honorees for women’s volleyball, with three Lewis University Student-Athletes earning recognition. Seniors Bella Ray (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic) and Ally Hickey (Granger, Ind./Penn), and sophomore Emma O’Neill (Papillion, NE/Papillion La Vista South) were honored for their work in the classroom and on the court.

Ray played in and started 25 matches this season, recorded 268 kills and a .347 attack percentage, and led the Flyers with 106 blocks. Majoring in middle level education, the Plainfield, Ill. native was named first team All-GLVC, and an honorable mention for both the AVCA All-Midwest Region and All-American.

Hickey played in and started all 33 matches for Lewis this season as the Flyers’ libero, leading the team with 633 digs and adding 96 assists and 36 service aces. Majoring in business analytics, the Granger, Ind. native was named second team All-GLVC.

O’Neill played in all 33 matches this year, notching 123 kills with a .230 attack percentage. Majoring in marketing, the Papillion, Neb. native added 89 blocks, 48 digs and 12 service aces for the Flyers this season.
