Lewis Women's Volleyball Ranked Second in GLVC Preseason Poll


INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis University was voted second in the preseason coaches’ poll 2023 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) regular season standings, the league office announced on Tuesday (Aug. 22).

The preseason poll is selected by the league’s head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.

 

Lewis is coming off a 22-9 season where they finished off with their 12th GLVC title in program history and a trip to the NCAA Midwest Regional. 

Lorelee Smith returns to the sidelines for her 17th season and owns a 439-106 record overall with a 232-29 mark in the GLVC. 

First Team All-GLVC honorees Bella Ray (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic), Lauren Stenman (Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul), Juliana van Loo while second team honoree Megan Schlechte (Strasburg, Ill./Stewardson-Strasburg) return to lead the Flyers. 

Lewis Volleyball will begin the 2023 season receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) DII Preseason Coaches’ Poll,
