Lexy Bloss Named SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week


Cortland junior middle blocker Lexy Bloss (York, PA/Dallastown Area) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women’s Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 22.

Bloss averaged 1.5 blocks per set in two Cortland road wins over the weekend. She recorded three blocks, two solo, along with seven kills in a 3-0 win at Fredonia Friday and had six block assists and three kills in a 3-0 win at Buffalo State Saturday. 

 

Bloss has appeared in 19 matches, 18 as a starter, this fall and has 48 blocks and 86 kills. 

 

Cortland is currently 18-3 overall and 7-0 in the SUNYAC. The Red Dragons play their final two SUNYAC regular-season matches this weekend, hosting Geneseo (6-1 conference) Friday at 6 p.m. and Brockport (5-2 conference) Saturday at 1 p.m.
