Two-time Paralympian Liliane Mukobwankawe was recognised on the Launch of Awareness Raising on Gender Equality, Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response in the sports sector held on Sunday, December 10.
The short ceremony was held on the occasion of the exciting volleyball clash between APR F.C. and Rwanda National Police VC at BK Arena in Rwanda.
The Kigali native received an award as one of the outstanding personalities in women’s sports in her country for the year 2023.
The 34-year-old has represented Rwanda in the Paralympic Games editions in Rio in 2016 and Tokyo in 2020. She was named Best Receiver in 2015 and Best Defender in 2019 at the African Sitting Volleyball Championships.
