HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team is leaving Tennessee with two pivotal victories. After garnering revenge against Bethel University on Monday evening, the Blue Raiders stepped into the Brewer Sports Center 24 hours later and pulled off a dramatic, come-from-behind win over the homestanding Lions of Freed-Hardeman University.

Trailing 12-8 in the match’s fifth and deciding set, the visitors slowly began chipping away at their deficit thanks to a series of errors committed by the home side in the closing moments. In fact, each of Lindsey Wilson’s last five points of the match was courtesy of four attacking miscues and a ball-handling fault. Even still, the Blue Raiders came up big where needed in the final frame of action, outhitting the Lions 0.280 to .100.

Savanah Pippin continued to flex her muscles on the offensive end for the locals, posting a team-high 14 kills. Aleksandra Wyrzkowska and Elisa Burzio each contributed 11 successful attacks to the Blue Raiders’ efforts en route to 52 total kills.

The visitors also stood firm defensively, collecting 84 digs as Camryn Rich and Logan Seagraves each finished with 17, and Natalie Ackermann and Wyrzkowska both chipped in 16.

Rich also went on to record a match-high 42 assists, giving her career double-double number 52.

Then, in the subsequent frame, the gears began to grind for Lindsey Wilson as they held the Lions to just nine points, marking the fifth different time this season that the locals have limited their opponents to less than 10 points in a…
