COLUMBIA, Ky. – At Biggers Sports Center, the Lindsey Wilson volleyball team did not have to worry much about shaking off the rust of a nine-day hiatus. No, the Blue Raiders got right back to work with their third consecutive victory, defeating Georgetown College in a straight-set sweep, 3-0.

The hosts showed off an unremitting attack against the Tigers, finishing the night with their third-highest single-match hitting percentage of the season at 0.370. On the flip side, the home team took advantage of 17 unforced errors and added seven total blocks to fluster their opposition at the net.

Alexis Smith paced a balanced Lindsey Wilson offense with a personal season-best 0.533 attacking, helping her to collect nine kills. Elizabeth Moore followed with seven successful attacks, while Savanah Pippin and Elisa Burzio contributed six kills each.

From there, the lead teetered from one side to the other, but it was a 10-3 run by Lindsey Wilson midway through the frame that ultimately set them on the winning course to take the opener, 25-22.

In the second set, a series of Georgetown miscues cleared the way for an early 5-2 lead for the Blue Raiders. However, a subsequent 10-5 stretch swiftly pushed the Tigers in front, 12-10. Despite this surge, Lindsey Wilson wasted little time getting back on track behind kills from Smith and Pippin, and with a few more errors from their opposition, the hosts restored their advantage with a 9-2 swing en route to a second set victory, 25-21.

The Blue Raiders dominated the deciding third frame, charging out to a 15-point lead that…
