COLUMBIA, Ky. – Ten student-athlete members of the Lindsey Wilson volleyball team have been tabbed as Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2022 season, national officials announced on Tuesday.
Alix Stoermer, Camryn Rich, Elisa Burzio, Embry Burgess, Jada Whited, Lillie Walker, Logan Seagraves, Madison Bidwell, Natalie Ackermann, and Savanah Pippin each garnered the honor.
Rich, a senior, leads all of the Blue Raider selections with her third-career recognition, while Ackermann, Bidwell, and Stoermer all collect their second. Burzio, Burgess, Whited, Walker, Seagraves, and Pippin are each earning NAIA Scholar-Athlete nods for the first time in their respective careers.
Lindsey Wilson was one of the three Mid-South Conference institutions to rack up ten or more honorees. Cumberland University (Tenn.) led the league with 13, and Georgetown College picked up 11.
All told, the 2022 list features 609 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year at said institution.
Graceland (Iowa) led the way with 19 honorees. Concordia (Neb.) finished a close second with 18.
