COLUMBIA, Ky. – It does not seem that long ago that the Lindsey Wilson volleyball team was prepping for the Vette City Classic in Bowling Green, and in just over a week, the Blue Raiders will be right back at Ephram White Gymnasium for the start of the 2022 Mid-South Conference tournament. However, two more regular season matches still await the locals and the first of which is happening Thursday evening against Georgetown College.

The Tigers (6-18, 5-8 MSC) and the Blue Raiders hold two of the richest histories when it comes to the Mid-South Conference. Between the two programs, there are 25 tournament championships, 24 regular season titles, 15 conference Players of the Year. Not to mention, 67 NAIA postseason victories and one NAIA national championship as well.

Through 24 matches this season, Georgetown has been led by its senior middle hitter Hunter Keller, who actively leads the league with a 0.356 attack percentage. Despite this impressive number, she ranks only 23rd overall in total kills with 198. Defensively, Keller also paces the Tigers at the net with 42.5 blocks, 24 of which credited as solo efforts.

Georgetown enters Thursday with just three wins in its last 11 matches, most recently taking a four-set defeat at Campbellsville University on Tuesday evening. Against Lindsey Wilson, the Tigers hold a 29-22 all-time advantage, but have dropped the last two, including the 2020 conference tournament final.

Following the late-week contest with Georgetown, the Blue Raiders will then turn their attention to the regular season finale versus Shawnee State University. This match-up with the Bears, scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. CST, will also serve as Lindsey Wilson’s “Senior Day!”

Shawnee State (12-12, 6-6 MSC) has won three of its last four in-league contests, all by means of straight-set sweeps.

Senior outside hitter Macie Rhoads currently sits third in the Mid-South with a kills per set ratio of 3.68, while fellow senior Abbie Kallner and freshman Regan Lewis rank 11th and 13th, respectively with 398 and 336 assists.

The Bears have lost 20 in-a-row against Lindsey Wilson dating back to 2011, and the Blue Raiders are aiming to keep that streak alive, among others.

Last week, the locals earned two hard-fought victories in Tennessee, defeating Bethel and Freed-Hardeman. Over those two matches, plus the one previous against Tennessee Southern,…
