Konkel was recognized as the Mid-South’s Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after contributing 12 total blocks over the Phoenix’s five matches last week.

Cumberland’s young standout managed two of her team’s 16 block assists the last time the Phoenix squared up against the Blue Raiders back on September 8, and they will certainly have their hands full again as Lindsey Wilson enters Wednesday with a hitting percentage just north of 27 percent over its last four matches.

The trio of Alexis Smith, Alix Stoermer, and Savanah Pippin continue to pace the local’s attack, combining for 463 kills and a 0.277 hitting mark on the season. Furthermore, at the net, Pippin and Stoermer lead the Blue Raiders with 32 and 25.5 total blocks, respectively.
