Long Beach State (16-1, 2-0 Big West) came away with a 25-20, 23-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-13 victory at UC Santa Barbara (7-12, 0-3) as Skyler Varga had 19 kills and Sotiris Siapanis 18. Varga had an assist, two blocks and nine digs, and Siapanis hit .406 and had an assist, two aces, a block and 10 digs. Clarke Godbold had 10 kills, a dig and three blocks, one solo. Simon Torwie had seven blocks and four kills and Aidan Knipe had 52 assists, four blocks and 11 digs. His team his .285 and had three aces and 22 errors. Mason Briggs had 17 digs and four assists.
UCSB, which hit .259 and had two aces — both from Jack Walmer — and 17 errors, got 23 kills from Geste Bianchi. He had no aces and five errors, but four blocks and 10 digs. Ben Coordt had 15 kills, two assists, a block and 11 digs and Owen Birg had 14 kills, an assist and five digs. Walmer had a kill, 54 assists, two blocks and nine digs.
