According to the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (HAGOC), four competition venues will serve as the battleground for the Asian Games Volleyball Tournament in Hangzhou, China, namely; Hangzhou Normal University Cangqian Gymnasium (HZNU Gymnasium), Linping Sports Center Gymnasium (LSC Gymnasium), Deqing Sports Center Gymnasium (DQ Sports Gymnasium) and China Textile City Sports Center Gymnasium (CXC Gymnasium).
The pool round-robin preliminaries will be held at all four venues. The men’s final showdown will take place on September 26 at Linping Sports Center Gymnasium, with the women’s final being organized on October 7 at Hangzhou Normal University Cangqian Gymnasium.
Due to the Asian teams’ busy schedule in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Qualification Tournaments – the men’s event from September 30 to October 8 in Brazil, China and Japan, and the women’s event from September 16 to 24 in Japan, China and Poland, the 19th Asian Games Volleyball Tournament has been split into two periods to avoid unexpected crashes of multi volleyball events at that time. The Asian Games men’s event is due to be held between September 19 and 26, with the women’s competition taking place from September 30 to October 7.
In the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022 Men’s Volleyball Tournament, a strong field of 19 teams confirmed their participation in the Hangzhou Asian Games and have been split into six pools. Pool A consists of hosts China, which captured the AVC Cup for Men title last year in Thailand and 16th place at the recent FIVB Volleyball Nations League, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
Defending and consecutive two-time champions Iran, current world No.10 which had also captured back-to-back Asian Senior Men’s Championship titles, are in Pool B together with Nepal and world No.77 Bahrain, while Pool C features Korea, India and Cambodia.
