McBride Becomes Latest Signee to Join the 2022 Women's Volleyball Team

PHILADELPHIA – Head coach Linda Hampton-Keith announced on Thursday that Nalani McBride would be the latest addition the Temple women’s volleyball program for the 2022 season.

“Nalani joining us this fall continues the upward trajectory of our program. She will add depth and skill at her position that will enhance our defense and ability to compete at a high level,” said Hampton-Keith. “We are excited to welcome the newest Owl to our nest!”

McBride, a soon-to-be graduate of Mountain View High School in Stafford, Va. averaged 395 digs per season in four years, and just last season, she moved to the top of MV’s record book as she became the career leader with 1,581 digs. She capped off her senior season leading Mountain View to the Commonwealth District 5A Championship with a 27-1 season record.

Along with being the Wildcat’s career leader in digs, McBride tallied 460 assists, 158 aces, and 137 kills in her four seasons. With her outstanding play, she would earn All-Region 5D First Team, Commonwealth District 5A First Team, Second Team All-State, Freelance Star All-Area, and Libero of the Year.

While McBride has been a tremendous volleyball player at Mountain View, she has also been excellent in the classroom, adding the Presidential Excellence Award to her resume.
