Men's Volleyball Falls to Neumann in Final Match of the Season


ASTON, Pa.- The Immaculata University men’s volleyball team fell to Neumann three games to none (15-25, 17-25, 22-25) in their final match of the 2024 season on Thursday night. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

Immaculata was led offensively tonight by Josh McGurl with 11 kills, and one service ace. Michael Prall had seven kills, and one service ace. Brandon Lieberman had four kills. Brandon Fox had three kills, and one service ace. Joe Martell handed out 24 assists. 

Defensively, Matthew Pfister led Immaculata with 13 digs. Brandon Lieberman had seven digs. Michael Prall had four digs and two total blocks. Joe Martell had four digs, and Josh McGurl had three digs. Brandon Foxx and Christian Lee each had one total block. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

In the first set, Josh McGurl served an ace to give Immaculata an early 3-1 lead. Neumann responded with a five-point run to take a 6-3 lead. Neumann would use another pair of five-point runs on their way to taking set one 25-15. 

In set two, Immaculata fought off four set points, on a service ace by Christian Lee, and a kill from Michael Prall. Neumann would win set two 25-17.  

In set three, Immaculata tied the score at 8-8 on a kill from Michael Prall. Trailing 18-13, Immaculata fought back into the set on the strength of a kill from Michael Prall, a service ace from Brandon Fox, and three kills from Josh McGurl to cut Neumann’s lead to 20-19. Neumann would close out the set, winning 25-22 and taking the match 3-0. 

The Immaculata University men’s volleyball team (5-14) have concluded their 2024 season.
