FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The University of Michigan volleyball team kept its momentum rolling at the Lumberjack Classic with a 3-0 win over host Northern Arizona on Friday evening (Aug. 26) at the Rolle Activity Center.
With the win over the Lumberjacks, U-M swept both of its foes on Friday, making quick work of Old Dominion (25-23, 25-17, 25-14) earlier in the day.
Jess Mruzik led all players in kills (15) and in digs (19) to earn her first double-double of the season. Maddie Dowd led all players in assists with 28 while chipping in seven digs against NAU.
Michigan got off to a rocky start in set one, where they were down by six at one point. Behind the efforts of Jess Robinson and Mruzik at the service line and Mruzik’s back-row kills the Wolverines were able to go on an 11-1 run to complete the comeback and caprture the opening set.
