No. 12 Purdue Falls to No. 9 Minnesota, 3-1

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.  – Despite a Big Ten season-high 12 total blocks, the No. 12 Purdue Boilermakers (15-5, 6-4 Big Ten) were unable to upend No. 9 Minnesota (12-6, 7-3 Big Ten) in Maturi Pavilion. With the result, the teams split the series, 1-1.

Three Boilermakers reached double-digit kills for the first time this season. Eva Hudson led the team with 21 kills on a season-high 66 attempts. Madeline Koch and Emma Ellis followed with 12 and 10 kills, respectively.

Hannah Clayton led the blocking effort with a career-high-tying nine total blocks, including a career-best three solo stuffs.

The Boilermakers will be back next weekend with a Friday-Sunday matchup. Purdue will open the week on the road at Northwestern on Friday at 9 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network. Then, Purdue will take on Indiana for the rights to the Monon Spike on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The match will be streamed on B1G+.
