No. 12 USC Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Morehouse College

LOS ANGELES – The 12th-ranked USC men’s volleyball team (2-0) swept Morehouse College (0-3) in three sets (25-9, 25-14, 25-12) at the Galen Center Pavilion in the SIAC Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 6.
 
KEY PLAYERS

  • Fr. OH Jack Ebertin led the Trojans with eight kills (1e, 12att) on .583 hitting and added three blocks.
  • Redshirt Jr. OPP Jack Deuchar posted seven kills (1e, 9att) on .667 hitting and served five aces.
  • Fr. MB Wes Smith logged five kills on just six swings without an error to hit .833 and had three blocks.
  • Fr. S Caleb Blanchette dished out 23 assists to go with one dig and one block and five service aces.
  • Jr. OPP Luke Hobus had three kills (1e, 4att, .500) and a block.
  • Jr. MB Markus Olsson also had three kills on four swings (0e, .750) and racked up three blocks and a service ace.
  • For the Maroon Tigers, Benjamin Attles had seven kills (1e, 12att) with two digs and a service ace. Jamar Shackleford Jr. put up 13 assists. Daniel Allen had three kills. Aidan Pullian and Williams Babalola each had two kills apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Trojans hit .614 and logged 32 kills on 44 swings (5e). USC out-blocked Morehouse, 6-0, and had more digs (10-5), assists (30-15), and aces (14-1) than the Maroon Tigers.
