THE FLATS – No. 13 Georgia Tech volleyball (16-3, 7-2 ACC) won the last five points of the fourth set to emerge victorious over Duke (12-8, 3-6 ACC) on Friday night inside O’Keefe Gymnasium. Bianco Bertolino posted her 100th career ace in the final 5-0 run to secure the White and Gold’s seventh conference win of the year.

  • Tech has now won six consecutive meetings against Duke and eight of the past 10 dating back to the 2015 season. The streak is tied for the Jackets’ longest in series history, matching a six-match win streak from 2002-04.

  • Freshman opposite Larissa Mendes led the match with 16 kills on .389 hitting. She recorded 11 of her kills in the final two sets, doing so on an impressive .476 hitting.
  • This is her seventh match of the season to have made 10+ kills on .300 or better hitting.
  • Senior defensive specialist Liz Patterson secured her second-career multi-ace match tonight, securing a pair of aces in the first set.
  • Sophomore middle blocker Anna Boezi registered her first solo block as a Jacket tonight, finishing with two solo blocks and five overall.
  • She is averaging 1.05 blocks/set in her last six starts.
  • The Yellow Jackets made 10 service aces today, headlined by four from Bertolino and a pair each from Patterson and Pimentel. This was the fourth 10+ ace effort of the season.
  • Tech’s defense posted 77 digs, tied for the most in a four-set match this season (Sept. 2 at Ohio State).
