No. 3 USC Beach Volleyball Roasts Ducks to Close Out 4-0 Pac-12 South Run

TEMPE, Ariz. – The third-ranked USC beach volleyball team (12-2) wrapped up a perfect 4-0 weekend at the Pac-12 South Invitational with a 5-0 sweep of Oregon (1-11) at the Sun Devil Beach Volleyball Facility on Sunday, March 10. 
 
The Women of Troy won their eighth straight dual and improved to 10-0 all-time in meetings with the Ducks. In 5-0 matches, the Trojans improved to 146-2 all-time and collected their eighth clean sweep of the season. USC also upped its record to 36-1 all-time in the state of Arizona and remained unbeaten by its four opponents this weekend to now hold a 40-0 combined record.
 
Graduate twins Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse scored the first dual point with their 21-7, 21-13 win over Jensen Kaelin and Ashley Schroeder at the No. 2 position. The twins improved to 10-3 on the season and got their 101st all-time victory as a pair.
 
At the No. 4 position, freshman Ashley Pater and sophomore Madison White teamed up for the first time and turned in a 21-10, 21-17 win over Landree Coats and Skylar Kelly to put the Trojans on top, 2-0, in the dual.
 
The clinching point came from the Trojans’ fifth pair. Senior Olivia Bakos and graduate Molly Phillips joined forces for the first time and delivered the third point with a 21-9, 21-14 win over Presley McCaskill and Isabel Patterson. 
 
The Trojans went on top, 4-0, with a win at the top court from senior All-Americans Megan Kraft and Delaynie Maple. The duo improved to 13-1 on the season and won their eighth straight match without dropping a set. Kraft-Maple moved to 41-4 all-time and climbed into a tie for 10th in school history for wins by a pair (Terese Cannon and Nicolette Martin).
 
USC cemented the 5-0 sweep with a win from its No. 3 pair of graduates Maddi Kriz and Grace Seits. The tandem improved to 10-1 with its eighth straight victory by defeating Bella Gamache and Natasha George, 21-11, 21-4.
 
The Women of Troy return home for just two nights before making a trek to the East Coast for the FAU Beach Invitational hosted by Florida Atlantic in Pompano Beach, Fla. USC will take on Palm Beach Atlantic and the host Owls on Friday (March 15) and then meets Florida International and TCU on Saturday (March 16). All matches will be played at the Pompano…
