STANFORD, Calif. — No. 4 UCLA (26-2) posted two more wins on Saturday to go 4-0 at the Pac-12 North Invitational at Stanford’s GSB Courts. The Bruins defeated No. 13 Washington (13-12), 3-2, in the morning match and then defeated Arizona (18-6), 4-1, in the afternoon.
In the first dual against the Washington Huskies, the Bruins improved to 12-0 all-time in the series. Graduate students Haley Hallgren teamed up with sophomore Sophie Moore for the first time this season and clinched the Bruins’ dual win on court three with a 21-14, 21-14 victory over Scarlett Dahl and Paloma Bowman.
In the second dual against the Wildcats, the Bruins improved to 11-2 in the series with their seventh-straight win over Arizona. Moore again clinched the Bruins’ victory alongside a new partner in Lexy Denaburg on court two. The duo rallied to take down Arizona’s Abby Russell and Hope Shannon, 19-21, 21-10, 15-8.
