No. 7 Cal Drops Regular Season Finale



Bears Bested by No. 3 Stanford 4-1

STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 7 California beach volleyball team was bested by No. 3 Stanford 4-1 on Saturday to close out the regular season.
 
The Golden Bears (20-11) saw their four-match win streak ended at the hands of the rival Cardinal (27-3), who are winners of 10 straight.
 
All five matches were decided in two sets with Stanford winning the top four courts. The Bears ended the weekend on a high note as Portia Sherman and Jenna Colligan defeated the Cardinal’s Maya Harvey and Ashley Vincent 21-16, 21-18. Sherman and Colligan are the first duo to take a point off Stanford in over two weeks.

NEXT UP
The Bears will now prepare for next week’s Pac-12 Championship in Tempe, Ariz. The first round is set for Wednesday and seeding has yet to be set.
