Gulf Shores, Ala. – The Florida State Seminoles defeated Florida International 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament at Gulf Shores Public Beach in Gulf Shores, Ala. FSU will face LSU tomorrow, May 6, at 11:00 a.m. ET.
If the Seminoles win the quarterfinal match, they will face the winner of California and UCLA, also on Friday at 2:00 p.m. ET.

FSU 3, FIU 1
Maddie Anderson and Paige Kalkhoff started things off hot for the Seminoles on court one by winning the first set 21-16. The pair kept their momentum and won their second set 21-15 to give the Noles their first dual point.
Audrey Koenig and Caitlin Moon tried to hold off the Panthers but lost in two straight sets, 21-17 and 21-19.
Anna Long and Jordan Polo had a great showing in the first round of the tournament. The pair won their first set 21-15 and came back and won the second set 21-15 to give the Noles their second dual point.
Raelyn White and Morgan Chacon won their first set on court three 21-15. The pair then were in a position to clinch the match in favor of the Noles. White and Chacon closed out their second set winning 21-17. Giving the Noles their third and final dual point.
Court five went to three sets before the match was called due to decision. Makenna Wolfe and Alexis Durish won their first set 21-17 and dropped the second 21-18. Wolfe and Durish were up in the third set 8-7 when the match was decided.
