Northwestern raises the curtain on its spring slate by heading north to Milwaukee, Wis. on March 3 to take on Marquette, which finished 29-4 in 2022 en route to advancing to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.
After taking nearly a month off from competition, the ‘Cats return to action on April 1, visiting another 2022 NCAA Tournament qualifier in Big Ten rival Purdue. A return to Milwaukee awaits just under two weeks later, where Northwestern will take on both Green Bay and Milwaukee on April 14. A date with local rival Loyola on April 22, the Wildcats’ third of the spring against an NCAA Tournament participant, closes out the spring schedule.
Davis piloted Northwestern to an 18-14 finish (7-13 B1G) in 2022, his seventh in charge in Evanston. The ‘Cats 18 victories were the program’s most since a 20-win campaign in 2010. Northwestern picked up three wins over ranked opponents, highlighted by a thrilling five-set win on the road over then No. 7 Minnesota, the first road victory over a top-10 opponent in Wildcat annals.
