The senior middle blocker averaged 1.70 blocks per set during the opening weekend of SEC play.
This serves as Okammor’s first weekly honor this season and second for her career (Nov. 2, 2020).
The Carrollton, Texas native averaged 1.70 blocks per set across the two matches, leading the way defensively for the Gators.
Against Auburn, Okammor posted a then-season high seven blocks in the match. That performance paired with five kills and two digs to secure the victory for Florida.
In Sunday’s match against Georgia, the senior set a new career-high in blocks, leading the team with 10.0. That surpassed her previous career-best of nine that she set on Oct. 31, 2020. Okammor also registered four kills and a dig in the five-set win.
She currently ranks ninth in the conference in blocks per set, averaging 1.18.
The Gators are back in action on Wednesday as they play host to the Texas A&M Aggies. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. on ESPNU with Sam Gore and Missy Whittemore on the call.
