OMAN VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION BACKS OCC’S NATIONAL COACH CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

Muscat, Oman, June 6, 2024 – Within future vision  of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth with Oman Olympic Committee, represented in cooperation with sports federations, several seminars were recently held for coaches in various governorates, which included the preparation of  daily training sessions, Annual plans and Modern of physical conditions tests. 

More than 25 trainers participated for each seminar and more than 15 volleyball coaches supervised the  volleyball training centers in the governorates and regions, which contributed significantly to developing the cognitive side of the coaches and developing the volleyball training sector in seven training centers. 

The Oman Volleyball Association technically supervises these training centers, which the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic Committee supported the federations for developing coaches and enhancing their knowledge in coaching and training field.

On the other hand, after greatest success of Oman NCCP (National Coach Certification Program) in 2023 which inspired a lot of sports coaches in federations, clubs and military teams, Oman Olympic Academy supports the launch of the 2024 NCCP Program with many clinics and specialized sports seminars as follows.

1.Three coaches courses stage 1

2. Specialized sports seminars:

-Designing Training  Periodization

-Athletes Mental Preparation

-Athletes Injury prevention

Dr Shihab Aldin Ahmed, FIVB Instructor and NCCP Program Director said:

“Mostly we reach our main objectives for increasing the number of qualified coaches who participated in NCCP and are still active with their organizations and clubs. I am highly appreciated for Oman Volleyball Association, clubs and sports military origination who responded positively in this program and pushed a lot of coaches for learning important subjects such as sports science, Training methods, Physical Conditioning, Coaching pedagogy, sports medicine and designing training session.

“Last week, we finished periodization seminar with 34 participants in Sultan Qaboos University and applied a new modern version of Periodization and designing annual plan via software. It is great opportunity for coaches to use the technology at this field. Next week will began the first coaches course stage 1 at this year with more than 30 participants.

“Also, we have a lot of seminars in sports psychology and sports medicine with International instructors for updating and upgrading coaches knowledge in coaching field…
