Orange Lose To Miami – Syracuse University Athletics

Pittsburgh

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse volleyball (10-12, 6-6 ACC) was defeated by Miami (14-9, 7-5 ACC), 3-0 (22-25, 19-25, 17-25), inside the Women’s Building on Sunday afternoon.

“We need to be more consistent with our performances,” said head coach Bakeer Ganesharatnam. “The consistency was addressed after Friday’s match against Florida State and I was pleased with the adjustments going into today, but we still need to work on continuing that and eliminating our in-game errors.”

The visitors paced the matchup in kills (46-35), aces (3-2), and assists (43-33). Both squads had 39 digs apiece. Syracuse held a block party on the home court today by putting up a match-high seven total blocks, the Hurricanes had just three fewer.

Polina Shemanova led the charge for ‘Cuse with 12 total kills and nine digs. Viktoriia Lokhmanchuk and Naomi Franco recorded 10 kills apiece. Alyssa Bert came up big on the defensive end with 14 digs.

Syracuse will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 4th, as it is set to welcome Pittsburgh for Military Appreciation Night. First-serve is set for 7 p.m. and the match will stream live on ACCNX.
