RALEIGH – Ava Brizard, Vanja Bukilic, and Amanda Rice led the Pack with 15 kills each as they took down Miami 3-1 (25-20, 25-20, 20-25, 25-21) Sunday afternoon on Reynolds.
For the first time since 2016, the Pack defeated both Florida State and Miami in the same season. The two wins were also the first against both opponents under head coach Luka Slabe.
Senior setter Kristen McDaniel tallied 23 assists on the afternoon.
Graduate libero Priscilla Hernandez recorded 20 digs against her former team.
Set One (25-20)
The Hurricanes took the early lead, but the Pack managed to tie the set, 11-11. NC State took four straight points after kills from Bukilic and Martyna Leoniak to take a 23-17 lead. Miami scored three more times before NC State took the final two points of the set.
Set Two (25-20)
Miami started with the lead once again, but the Pack found its momentum and came out on top. Rice led the team with six kills, while McDaniel added 12 assists and Naomi Cabello added 10 assists.
Set Three (20-25)
Miami took a 8-5 lead and the Pack struggled to maintain the momentum from the first two sets. At one point, the Hurricanes held a 21-14 lead over the Wolfpack. Errors by Miami and kills by the Pack allowed NC State to make it 19-24. A service ace by Leoniak stopped the Canes from scoring match point and made the set 20-24, but Miami scored the next point to take the set.
Set Four (25-21)
