Abderdeen, SD – The Saints fall at home to 16th ranked Bellevue University Bruins in three sets on Friday night. With the loss the Saints fall to 8-19 overall and 5-6 in the NSAA.
The Saints came out strong against the 16th ranked Bruins in the first set and kept it close and within a couple of points before the Bruins would go on a run and finish out the first set 25-18. The Saints hit .000 for the first set while the Bruins hit .278.
In set two it was more of the same from set one with both teams battling back and forth keeping the scores close until the visiting Bruins went on a couple of runs to push the lead out to five points and kept it there to the final score of 25-19 in favor of Bellevue. The Saints hit .105 for the set and the Bruins hit their match low of .167.
In the third and what would be final set of the night had a hot start by the Bruins but the Saints did not fold and kept fighting even when the visitors went on a run the Saints kept battling to keep it close. The final score of the set was 25-18 in favor of the Bruins. The Saints hit .140 and the Bruins had their match high of .282.
Inside the Numbers…
The Saints were led in kills again by Grace Tobin (JR/Mason City, IA) with 16 kills in the match. Sydney Miller (SR/Battle Ground, WA) had 15 assists followed by 13 from Olivia Corey (SO/Watertown, SD). Laura Babcock (SR/Aberdeen, SD) had 17 digs and Tobin had 13 of her own to pace the Saints.

The Saints will next be in action on Saturday for Parents Day as the face the Dakota State Trojans at 2:30 PM following the JV match that starts at 12:30 PM.
