Slavik Reaches Milestone as Clemson Defeats Boston College – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. – Senior Mckenna Slavik reached 3,500 career assists behind a 50-assist performance as Clemson defeated Boston College, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon in Jervey Gym. Slavik becomes only the seventh player in Clemson history to reach the milestone.

Camryn Hannah tallied six kills off six attacks to lead the Tigers offensively as the team hit .389 in the first set. Mia McGrath and Azyah Dailey added four and three kills, respectively. McGrath had two service aces in the first set as well as Clemson and Boston College traded leads four times and tied seven times during the opening set before Clemson was able to take the set, 26-24.

The Eagles took early control of the second set jumping out to an 8-3 lead. Clemson dug its way out behind kills from McGrath and Colleen Finney, while Slavik and Sophie Catalano added aces. Hannah pushed to keep the Tigers alive, but it wasn’t enough as Boston College evened things as a set a piece with a 25-23 set win.

Clemson responded in the third by going on a seven-point scoring run led by Clark recording two aces and Finney, Dailey and McGrath clocking kills. Boston College made a push to take the set after tying things at 20-all, but McGrath and Slavik closed the door with kills to take the third set, 25-22.

The fourth set was a back-and-forth battle with neither team having more than a four-point advantage. Finney and Dailey came up with back-to-back block assists for the Tigers to swing the momentum in Clemson’s favor. McGrath tallied her 16th kill to tie her season-high to seal the Tigers 25-22 set and match victory.

  • Slavik finished with 50 assists, two shy of a career high, to bring her career total to 3,514
  • McGrath tied her season-high with 16 kills to lead the Tigers
  • Four Tigers finished with double-digit kills: McGrath (16), Hannah (13), Dailey (13) and Clark (11)
  • Sophomore Devan Taylor finished with 20 digs
  • Dailey and Finney each tabbed four blocks (one solo, three assisted), while Clark had three blocks
  • Five Tigers finished with an ace led by Clark (three) and McGrath (two)
