Velenje, Slovenia – Nova KBM Branik emerged victorious in the Slovenian Volleyball Cup Finals after defeating traditional rivals Calcit Volley 3-2 (25-16, 25-20, 18-25, 20-25, 19-17). This marks the 19th cup title for Maribor and their first since 2020.
This match was the fifth meeting between the two teams in the last 15 days, with only one win going to Calcit Volley. The loss was particularly painful for Calcit Volley, who had been knocked out of the MEVZA League in their own hall just few days prior.
Despite the intense competition, the Nova KBM Branik team managed to maintain their focus and consistency throughout the match. They started strong, winning the first two sets with ease. However, Calcit Volley managed to rally in the third and fourth sets, forcing a deciding fifth set.
The fifth set was a nail-biter, with both teams fighting tooth and nail for every point. It ultimately came down to a 19-17 victory for Nova KBM Branik, securing their victory and the cup title.
The Nova KBM Branik team celebrated their hard-earned victory, proud to have secured another title for their club.
